Time travel to the future

I would like to travel back to the year 2300 (I would say the year 2500 or 3000, but I really don't think the human species will survive to that year), so I can see where the world stands on environmental issues.

In 2018, the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a report warning that it only has until 2030 to stop catastrophic climate change.

Personally, I do not believe that we will be able to stop climate change, but neither do I believe that we will live the consequences of climate change. It will be the children and grandchildren of our generations who will suffer its effects: the total extinction of coral reefs, ten million more people exposed to flooding, fewer and fewer areas suitable for growing cereal crops, extreme droughts, forest fires and food shortages for hundreds of millions of people.

I have always had a special taste for watching post-apocalyptic movies (Maze Runner for example) and I have always believed that these are very feasible scenarios for the planet earth of the future (obviously excluding the fantastic elements), so I would like to travel to see what will happen, will humans manage to live in a sophisticated and sustainable society, or will I get to a world devastated by the climate crisis?

Sometimes I even consider myself very optimistic for believing that there will be humans in 2300, maybe I should lower my expectations and want to travel in 2150.

  1. Hi Cata! It's okay to have expectations, I still have them and maybe they aren't so realistic but I trust that a part of humanity will live many more years

  2. Hi Cata! I feel the same, the climate change is the first thing I think about when imagining the future. I don't have a lot of hope because the billionares who are in control of everything are evil, but let's try to imagine a better wolrd and free ourselves from that anxiety.
